Firmware Update Procedure

Before you Begin

  1. Upload the Firmware File:

  • Download the provided firmware ZIP file. To download the latest firmware, click here.

  • Log in to the SW-640L-TX-W Web Interface.

  • Navigate to the Firmware Update section and upload the downloaded ZIP file.

  • Once the update is completed and the device is rebooted, restore it to factory defaults.

  1. Update the APO-DG2 Dongle:

  • Plug the APO-DG2 dongle into the SW-640L-TX-W and wait for the confirmation message on the display.

  • The dongle will automatically detect and install the firmware update.

  • Once the update is complete, the dongle is ready for use.

We offer APO-DG2 and APO-DG2-Pro dongles. The Pro version works without any apps, while the non-Pro version requires a small app for Windows and Mac. This guide covers installing and using the APO-DG2 app.

Installing the APO-DG2 App

Connect the APO-DG2 dongle to your computer. A pop-up will appear, prompting you to install the Apollo Cast App. Click on the pop-up and follow the installation process.

How the App Works

  • When the APO-DG2 is detected, the Apollo Cast App will display a connecting message in the app menu.

  • Once connected, the app menu will provide instructions for using the wireless casting and conference functions via the APO-DG2 buttons. After 10 seconds, the app will automatically minimize to the system tray in the bottom right corner.

  • On PCs with the app already installed, the icon will appear in the system tray on startup. Click it to open the app menu, which will prompt you to plug in a dongle. The menu will minimize again after 10 seconds.

Installing and Updating Apollo App on macOS:

Step 1: Uninstall all previous versions of Apollo Cast software.

Step 2: Plug in the APO-DG2 dongle. A pop-up will prompt the installation of the Apollo Cast app, or a disk (Apollo Cast) will appear on the desktop.

Step 3: Open the disk and click the pkg file, following the installation steps.

Step 4: During the installation process, use the MacBook's user password to proceed:

Step 5: Ensure all authorizations are permitted during this process:

  • Installer would like to modify Apps on your Mac: Allow

  • Allow Apollo Cast to find devices on local networks?: Allow

  • Apollo Cast would like to use a new camera extension. Select Open System Settings and enable Apollo Cast (added after Mac OS V15.1).

Step 6: Close the installation and reboot your Mac
